Life in Street

Adolescent brain wandered in street
in search of intellections
to flirt, to cajole, to play
Before she knew she was kidnapped
fornicated on street with ugly notions
Pitiful remuneration was snatched
by pimps in disguise

There were encounters, infatuations, at times
on street, off street
when bud bloomed and hormones flew

Pleasure of mating, of conception
transmuted in pain of labor
bliss awaited at end of track of anguish
in dreams
in fancy

Greater pain was still in waiting

Pimps are fond of claiming
to have fathered the babies
