Her Black Doe Eyes

It is she that I call the dark night
The whole village says she's black
It was a cloudy evening
When I had first seen her,
And oh!
No beauty did her dark eyes lack!

She's black!?

O! How much black she may be,
Her black doe eyes
I did only see!

In those eyes I see the dark night!

Comment No Shaheli, in her bewitching eyes I saw the blinding lightning! Lovely admiration of a girl, and what a lovely illustration by Aparna.
