An Ode to Moon

From the planet of earth
you look so beautiful
and images like my beloved
singing melodious duets.

You are the age old subject
revolving around my mother's lullabies.

But when I hear some scientific facts
I fear you are just a mystic object
containing a plethora of gases
and inert matter that matters most.
You belied all our pristine thoughts
and presumed fallacies.
