Reciprocity

To give back
At least a bit of
What we get,
Is reciprocity -
A quality
That seems to be
Sadly missing
These days...

In today’s mad race
Of hectic work days,
We don’t pause to think
And make an effort to link
Our sudden good fortune
Or a bounty opportune,
To someone who reciprocated
Our good deed, perhaps unrelated...

Good one..of course one way to remain contented is - I do what I think 'should be done' without expecting reciprocity. Trust me, not plenty but such people are there..
