My Dilemma

  My brain and my heart
Are poles apart,
And I dread
What lies ahead.

My brain analyzes
And quickly realizes
There's nothing to guess -
The matter is hopeless.

But my heart
Can't stay apart -
Never learning,
It's still yearning.

My rational brain
Knows it's in vain
But my emotional heart
Is acting very smart.

So I'm confused,
Somewhat amused
That my heart and brain
Are fighting once again.
