Riya's Two Front Teeth Gone...!
by Padmaja Iyengar - Paddy
Bookmark and Share
  Despite two front teeth gone,
Riya seemed not a bit forlorn.
The missing teeth took their toll
And left on her gums a gaping hole.

She placed her missing teeth
Beneath a small little wreath,
And left it below her bed
Just as Mamma had said.

Mamma said, a Tooth Fairy will come,
Dressed in a lovely gown all white,
And leave for Riya goodies some
While she is fast asleep at night.

When Riya woke up in the morning,
Lo and behold, a surprise was waiting!
Under her pillow, she found
A gift-wrapped box quite round.

She opened the box with excitement
And found in it much to her merriment,
Some chocolates, a cute fairy doll,
Some hairclips and a colourful ball!

To be sure, in a days few,
Riya also got teeth anew!

Comment Thanks Kulbir:-) The most wonderful feeling on this earth is that of being a grandmom and I have to thank Riya for that :-)

Comment Padmaja,

Like a fairy tale - a heartwarming poem, full of good cheer.
