A Terrible Truth

Twinkling eyes of my granny,
Spoke a terrible truth
Obsessed…
She was with her son,
Appealing for her,
Impatiently she said, I am done

Was it her obsession or years' wait?
Was she missing her son?
She felt sorry at last,
And then went into deep sleep

Her last breath took her soul,
My father broke down in tears,
Cupped her face between his palms
He drew another breath
And kissed her gently on the forehead

Holding her love tight, a tear slid down
Pain was horrendous
How broken heart felt
And he was fairly unhinged
How we got estranged!

I watched the episode unexpectedly
And raced over to my father to console him
Oh Lord! Bless her soul.
