Her mute gestures
Still call me back for a glance
At beauty of the lush courtyards
A natural landscape of serenity
Of the motherly village
Deserted long time back for livelihood...
Of the growing metros eats into
The values of humanity,
Excretes the hybrids, pollution, smokes,
Creating a vitiated suffocating ambiance
Around the stony enclosures:
The barren land of alienation.
Fresh thoughtful breeze -
My old friend of childhood days
Blows out from the memories
From the fabulous florescent milieu
From pure breath
And smiling face of my mother
From the beauty of the land,
Caressing me in full glee
With pleasing showers
Of blessings, solace, love and wishes
On me, lost and fainted in the alienated life.
The veil of terrestrial distance is blown off
From my heart and mind
Uncovering my deep love for
The flora and fauna, the native people,
Arousing and reviving in me
A refreshing nostalgia time and again!
