My Salvation

  I won’t seek my salvation
Through renunciation
I shall taste my freedom
Through endless bondage
Full of endless joy.
In an incessant flow
You fill up the earthen cup of this world
With your heavenly nectar
Full of myriad colours and fragrance
Like innumerable candles in your temple
Light up my world with your divine flame
Shutting the doors and windows of my senses
I don’t want to meditate alone
I shall share your joy in your creation –
All its sights and sceneries
Full of music and fragrance.
My passion for them will shine as freedom
And my love will end in devotion.

Transcreation of the famous sonnet 30 – Bairagyasadhane mukti, se amar noy - from the collection Naivedya (Offerings) by Rabindranath Tagore. The original is at http://www.rabindra-rachanabali.nltr.org/node/12769.
