Slipped Moments

  There were moments of joy
Moments of closeness
Moments of love
Moments of showing affection

Moments of solitude
Moments of romance
Moments of togetherness
Moments of attraction

Moments of invitation
Moments of intimacy
Moments of dependence
Moments of convenience

Yet I failed to recognize
Failed to take the cue
Failed to express myself
Allowed to slip everything
Like the water through
The gap in the fingers
Of my closed palm

I miss those moments
I miss that guy
Who gave me those
Wonderful opportunities

Will he give me a chance
Again to get close and
Those precious moments
Of inviting looks and
Intimate moments so that I can
Take him in my arms and
Press my lips on that
Loving face and inviting lips!
