The Embers of Lust
|

I don’t think the flame of desire
Started from nowhere
It had been within me
Dormant embers of lust
Beneath the ash of affection
It is you who stoked it
It is you made it come alive
With red and yellow flame
When I said that ‘I miss you’
You reacted positively to
My warmth turning into love
Made me happy with
Similar words and phrases
Of fondness and care
I owe a lot to you
I agree because you
Never cared for the age gap
You put me at ease with happiness
At every place we walked together
I couldn’t forget the night
In the desolate island
In a cozy cottage of romance
The songs of melody
Flowing from your phone
When the moon was
As bright and clear
As the desire in my heart
You were in sleep close to me
Peacefully like a kid
It is unfortunate that
I failed to make you
Mine in that wonderful
Place and occasion
Perhaps the wicked destiny
Was more powerful
Than my heart’s longings
So the head ruled over me
When heart took over
The occasion has passed
Now I repent for my
Fear and inaction
But alas,
I don’t know how to
Put off the burning desire in me
Unless you come to me
Once again with open arms of
Same passion, love and care!
Probably I will be burnt
By my desires of passion
Yet, the embers of lust
Will be alive forever beneath
The ash of affection |
