Love's Labor Lost

Years of friendship and years of hope,
All gone with one word.
For years I tried to convince her of my love,
only to be brushed off as mere friendship.
This was a burden I couldn't take and so I drifted apart...
Friendship : a lover's bane
and Aphrodite's most dreaded curse.
I carry this burden in my heart,
onto my grave.
Only with one wish to be heard.
Let this be an Ode to my Love
Let this be an Ode to my Love
