I saw her coming from on high
as white as prayer, yet instilling dread.
I knew her not yet she came unto me,
with unbroken gaze and winged tread.
Are you to end my life tonight?
Are my sins to be judged at last?
Not one word she spoke,
just a sacred wind, an immortal blast.
I fell to the ground to hear heaven speak
those words that all know must come
but divine silence met my ears;
Truth is the fire to which all succumb.
She was here so I would believe;
see beyond this vortex of doubt.
The Holy Word is all I need,
it’s what my beloved is all about.
