In this avenue of hate
I can’t define myself.
You come faceless
your feelings nameless.

There is an unknown tower
with obscure stairs
it has a bell
that does not knell
your demise.

Its thorn-piked roads
refuse to bestow
my soles a visible injury.
The air I breathe
has less oxygen
and more you.

Its houses have
bolted windows
and locked doors,
inmates suffocate
but do not scream.

Let me hurl obscenities
in this avenue of hate
and know myself.
Or I may yell and
blow my head off
to forget you
in this avenue of hate.
