Makar Jyoti --
flashes of joy
in the kite

The sun takes its northward movement today, Jan 14, 2015. In India we celebrate this day as Makar Sankranti, a great celebration to express our gratitude to the sun god. People in large numbers take holy dips in the sea, rivers and lakes across the country. Dance, music, kite flying, good food and shopping form part of the celebration. Happy Makar Sankranti to all our readers.
