Humour Or Tumour…?

God bestowed us with the capacity to laugh,
God bestowed us with the capacity to scoff,
At silly or serious events good-naturedly,
Depending on our own discerning ability.

The purpose of a cartoon
Is to satirically lampoon
With a measure of gumption
At a happening or a person.

A cartoon often caricatures
People of varying statures
Ribbing their quirkier side
With a side-splitting aside.

Cartoons evoke a laughter,
And are often sought after
By people who enjoy satire
And humour in its entire.

When cartoonists who evoke smiles,
Are killed by some fanatic imbeciles,
Who think it is a big sin,
To smile, guffaw or grin,
Then humour sucks and causes bile.

Those who can’t take a joke in their stride,
Those who can’t stand anyone smiling wide,
What kind of a skewed mindset is theirs?
What kind of a strange thinking is theirs?
