Tall Order, eh…?

Gandhiji’s three monkeys tell,
Never see, hear and speak evil.
Why this unfairness to mankind,
Since this is what I actually find?

The monkey with closed eyes,
Happily hears and speaks evil!

The monkey with closed ears
Merrily speaks and sees evil!

The monkey with closed mouth
Endlessly sees and hears evil!

But then, we are not the monkeys.
And surely, the monkeys are not us.
So, let’s continue to heed Gandhiji,
And never see, hear or speak evil!

(Tall order, eh?)
