Theme: Narcissism

No Narcissism

Only the Almighty knows
What their lives may be,
They watch their reflections
In their mirrors with glee.

Possibly it is narcissism
Wherein people dive deep,
Trying to find out beauty
In what they outside keep.

They love a lot their bodies
And forget about their souls,
They worship what is futile
Forgetting their real goals.

The real beauty is invisible,
It is the fact they overlook;
What is mirrored is temporary,
It is said in the Holy Book.

Let them see glory in God,
And work for His pious sake;
Let's serve for the humanity,
Shunning the thing that is fake.

Comment Wise advice. The beautiful have this advantage - that everyone smiles at them; which is why most beautiful people have beautiful natures. In fact, this is how they become aware they are beautiful, despite being crippled by complexes. Feminine vanity is often concern about some overriding fault in appearance they, not necessarily others, discern. Many a beautiful star in the entertainment world thrives on public perception, while secretly considering themselves ordinary or even ugly. A classic case is Joanna Lumley, the Ghurka queen, and an established beauty, who because of a gummy smile - though quite ravishing - occasionally refers to herself as a chimpanzee!
