The Unknown Way

O wary traveller, at least for once
You lose yourself and wander
In an unknown way
Fill your watchful eyes with anxious tears
At the end of that lost way
There is a lost hearts’ bower
And under its thorny trees
Lie bright red flowers
There things are built and broken
On the shores of boundless seas
Like a miser you watch over
What you saved all your life
Let it get squandered like flowers
In the storm of the night
And in the game of losing all
Take the winner’s reward.

Transcreation of the song Ore sabdhani pathik, barek path bhule maro phire by Rabindranath Tagore. The best recording of this song is by Debabrata Biswas.
