How far will you take me
Where will the way end?
Don’t you feel tired
Even if the address has been lost?
The way I passed behind
Is covered by dust raised by a storm
The way ahead is equally dark
Please tell me when will be the tryst
My hope is like intense thirst
With a mirage please don’t mock
Yet go on I will have to
Though my feet will bleed
My tears will bear a touch of smile
The butterfly gives its life in love to the lamp
It is but giving life to death
When the storm passes away all become calm.

Transcreation of the hauntingly melodious Bengali love song – Ar kotodure niye jabe bolo kothay pather pranta – by Manna Dey. The lyric is by Gouriprasanna Majumdar and the music is by the artist himself.
