As I am a Girl, I am Dead

I am about to be born
I am in my mother's womb
I feel very protected inside
I feel I am cared for by her
I got enough love and care
I only want to see the world
and first of all,
I want to see my mother's face
I want her to give me the first kiss
I am longing for that moment
I began to feel excited
and I started to jump; that caused my mother
a lot of pain
I just felt very sorry for her
I just want to smile at her and make her
forget the pain I created.
Today I knew that I am a girl
I am going to be born.
Suddenly, the next day
I was dead.
As I was a girl, they killed me
not only me, so many are killed
And they are all with me in one place
We are crying and longing to be loved
But no one cares
We are alone.
We all wanted to speak out loud;
To stop discrimination against girls
So as I am a girl, I am dead.
