Zest For Life

Devil December --
Time laid his icy hand
on her Spring
ruining the green garden
of joyous moments,
rendering the life
with no fruit-bearing tree
in scorching Summer
even before its advent..!

Yet...the salty tears
that kept rolling down
behind the veil
did smile as the seed
of hope and zeal
in the murky meadow
boosting the resilience
that still guards her 
against the big assaults
of the diurnal blows.

Tears take many years 
several months 
of angst and mourning
to get wiped off 
but struggling cheers
tear into the stony chest
of ruthless Time;
the indomitable spirit
retrieves good moments
to spend and live by...
