Inanity of Love

It has been ages-
since we parted,
nothing remains
but the intervening silence;
a vague sensation,
an ineffable feeling
of vast timelessness.

The mundane life
takes its own course,
only time flows by-
between you and me;
giving some meaning
to this inane love.
