Sans a sister, a home is a concrete cage,

a temple without a deity,
a river with no water
and a starless painted sky.

With a magic wand, she's an emissary
who irons out all wrinkles among siblings,
a pigeon who carries brother’s love-letter, to and fro
turns a home to a dance palace
and a kitchen to a reality show.

(In appreciation of a girl’s role at home. Today, August 7, 2017 is Rakhi Purnima)
