Candid Confession

I am locked in my own cell
In a deep pit of darkness -
In an evil sheath of selfishness,
Of gloom and loneliness
Sneered and stared
By piercing eyes of the world.

The little goodness I have
In me is like a window
A half-open heart, craned out
Tempting me to enjoy
Beautiful glimpses of heaven
On this dreary earth -
Dazzling beauty of the morns
Before the sunsets,
Endearing faces of moons
Beyond dancing clouds
Before the sunrises
That turn into scorching heat.

Let them be mocking birds
To the jilted by good life or love,
My heart will keep dancing
To the tune of nature --
Be it objective or subjective call.
