Ayam Atma Brahma

I cannot, I will not, I shall not
despite what all the masters say.
To renounce all attachments of this objective world
Would be to annul a lifetime’s love
And call what we had a ba*tard child.

I guess I’m destined for another turn
Around the wheel we know as life.
Could I be so fortunate to meet again
The angel who became my wife?

Perhaps we could meet as children
And playfully rerun this cosmic game
Innocently unknowing of our past
And our sacred connectivity.

Vedanta says we all are God:
Ayam Atma Brahma
If this is true then she and I
Can never be truly set apart
She and I are one.
