Boat In The Krishna River

A world in itself floats
In serene silence and tranquillity
While the boat dances
Down the crimson horizon

The revellers catch a glimpse
Of dusky beauty of nature
And cherish and nurture
Some momentous moments
Of the soothing time—

The time that is diurnally lost
Often in the humdrum
Of the maddening city crowds,
Is fished out of the river
Every evening of the long day—

When the tired sun goes down
For the dip in the river water
Before he sleeps down
In the warm embrace of his love.
