Fruit

Standing on this piece of land
That has given me so much
Despite all the love I have got
With soft and soothing touch
I feel something is missing
Despite laughter, love and song
Something is wrong somewhere
Despite the colors and the throng…

The dearth of my own heart
From the moment of my birth
Tells me to eat, try and taste
The unknown fruit of this earth
Sometimes I got great pleasure
At times I cried with terrible pain
At times I fell ill and senseless
With my consciousness to regain…

The unknown fruit of the trees
It has only made me restless
I have experimented for years
Now I wish to remain tasteless…
