What an Irony!

Every time I watch the sea

I feel disturbed

Don’t know why, because

The sea seems to be

Always restless to me

I know if one goes

Deep into its vastness

I know it is calm

Must be as the angry

Waves roll over

To come and hit the

Shore restlessly

Is it similar to

A highly disturbed

Human psyche

The scenario is

Different here

The turbulence is

Within the mind

But we try to

Show calm exterior

Like sea’s depth

Is unfathomable

The human mind is

Also not comprehensible

Not measurable

Even by our own selves

We try to live a

Flustered life

Of ups and downs

Likes and dislikes

Happiness and sorrows

Achievements and defeats

The mind also has

The burden of putting up

A facade of calm and happy

Faces of us to others

Alas, even while we sleep

The mind doesn’t

It churns out dreams

Of happy to absurd

The shores are happy

Place to spend time and

Also to realize that

We ourselves are huge

Restless oceans

Oceans of pent-up emotions

Always finding a shore

To calm ourselves

With waves of

Soft, happy and rough!

What an irony!
