Innocent Savages

Blind to the glowing light within
Deaf to the guiding voice within.
Groping in the darkness of ignorance
Taking the snake to be the rope
And fearing the rope to be the snake.
Constantly walking in and out of illusions
Clutching and clinging to impermanence.
Oblivious and unaware of the fact that
we are part of the whole
and that the whole itself is a part of us.
Blissfully degrading, demeaning, deteriorating
the self
Thus we remain savagely innocent
and innocently savage.
