My Playroom

I am busy building a playroom in my mind
How do I tell you
How many nights have I been sleepless for this.
The travelers ask me to join them
In their outdoor games
But where is the time?

My discarded things are lying around
With those broken toys of times gone by
I am building my room
There is a throne for my new playmate
I don't know by what skill
He will renew my broken things.

Translation of the song ' Khelaghar bandhte legechhi amar moner bhitare by Rabindranath Tagore. The original with its swaralipi or notation is at http://www.rabindra-rachanabali.nltr.org/node/6243.
