Social Distancing

Coronavirus threatens the world
all powerful leaders
all potential powers
bow meekly as death stares in face.

Death a name, a reality, a scare
a shadow following from birth
never visible, yet palpable
manifests in myriad ways---
yet, man acts indifferently.

Tell me dear honestly
when were men closer?
Birth, place, power, pelf
always kept people apart---
fear of fading braces bonding.

Pandemic demands social distancing
calamities neither new, nor first time---
when survival matters most
self-restraint helps reach coast!
