Folk Poem

Ah once there was a village great

Beyond a grassy hump,

Dwelt where two simple lasses

One feeble and one plump!

The leaner one was wedded soon

The buxom still unwed

Someone’s fancy soon she'll be 

And to the altar led

For then the humming birds shall flap

Their tiny wings in glee

To wish them both a future best

Of joy and ecstasy
