Ocean of Memories

Why I don’t forget
Even certain little things in my life
Why I don’t get away
From the misgivings of my past
Why I fail to understand
The falls in my life
Why I still shed tears
On hearing a song
Or thinking of some loss
Why I remember the
Chances I missed in life
Why I keep thinking of
Broken relationships’ values
Why I still carry a view
That certain values are pristine
Why I love someone
Who is not mine to love
All these questions only
Make me understand
An individual is still an island
Among the sea of people
One is just a traveler
Who can only carry the
Ocean of their memories
Waves of their emotions
The debris of their own life
Yes, and nothing else
