You Are Gone

You are gone.

Long unending dark night

Like swelling volcanic flow of tar

Fills every corner of heart

And burns.

A cinder is kindled in me,

What is love?

Is it the fire that pulls two bodies

To engulf them,

Where skin to sink in skin

For nectar,

That lasts for moments

And the thirst

Till it lasts?

Or the connection of hearts,

A lingering sweetness,

That shines like pearls

Seldom lost

In the deep ocean of life?

Or is it a journey

That leads one to another?

The moon and the stars

From lighting up the stage

How they turn into lifeless existence!

You are gone.

My misty eyes watch

Fireflies in breathless night

Float like ember -

My smoldering pain.
