Lockdown

Can anybody say

How many days

We will endure the lockdown?

No one has any rebuttal

We only follow the ground rule.

Can anybody say

How we are in

For a day or a month

With no result?

And our cognizance is antiquated

How can we breathe

And how can we maintain

Our relationship

With our kith and kin

Nobody has any answer.

Can anyone say

How the poorest of poor are living

And striving hard

All through the day

To earn their loaf of bread

No one has any answer.

But I see them in hunger

All through the day

Does anybody think of them

For how many days

Will they sustain with hunger

No one has to avouch.

Are relief materials provided by

Different agencies sufficient for them?

The answer is a big No.

Then how will they survive

And how will we survive

With the lockdown continuing...
