Sugar, Salt and Chillies

If the scars recall the aches
And ember turns to fire,
The lingering pain of wounds
Those refuse to heal
Just sleep for a while
To get awakened by the mildest touch,
Then I wouldn’t like to look back
The path,
That still smells of blood
Of broken heart,
Has dry leaves but no flowers,
Dust but no dewdrops,
Darkness but no lights.
Let me bury it
At the farthest corner of my heart
And move on.
Time bites out of my life;
Before it eats me off,
Let me savor
A bit more of chillies, salt and sugar,
Before I die,
Let me have the rest of my pie.
