When Darkness Comes

I see shadows of fallen friends of mine
Imploring me to join their line
As they shuffle so impatiently
Towards the door that will set them free.

Into a realm of light, free from pain
Where time stands still and musical refrain
Echoes across this land of good
And natural law rules, as it should.

Maintaining the balance between light and dark;
Protecting the innocent, those of warm heart.
