Reading words written long before
Intoxicated my soul,
And in this semi-conscious state,
I decided to write my recollections galore.

Each word written aeons ago
Seems to come alive,
Dancing each to its tune,
And my interpretation

Gives each word a new meaning-
Dancing to my music
Adding romance to my tune,
Giving a mystical quality

To all that I read-
Making me realize,
The meaning of life.
The treasure enclosed

Within the precious folds,
Tattered yet preserved,
For my reading alone,
Giving me a breathing space
To recollect my days old.
