Crayons Unlock A Pandemic

Finding light within---

important

in the surrounding darkness,

despite the sodium-vapour lamps

lighting the exteriors of the familiar

landscapes

and a warm wind

on cold nights!

The houses are now prisons

in high-rises,

the residents await a quick release

much hoped-for

than real

as the pandemic rages on....

and a crippled

girl-child

in a dim-lit hovel, nearby

the towers

weaves birds in full flight

on the white pages of

an old diary

of a dead mother

the crayons

unlock quickly

easily---

startling

newer worlds!
