Knocking at doors crying out ‘Trick or Treat’
The young and not so young
in fancy hairdo and colorful costumes
The two-year-old in Blippi's* costume
shadowed the flamboyantly attired children
Bag across shoulder larger than her diminutive self
to save all the booty; tactfully, Mom hid them all!
Out of the blue one day:
'Santa's taken away all my candies, I want to go
and bring them back, they're mine!'
Mama gently rebuked - 'But, you must share
Only then you'd get more, Santa would give you a lovely gift!'
The little one argued and stuck to her guns.
It's Halloween again! I wonder what her costume is this year?
What she’d do with the candy-collection?
Will she, and the other little ones be safely ‘masked’?
Not get snared by the crowned monster!
(*Blippi is the child's favourite character. Seeing her in Blippi's clothes, people assumed her to be a boy.)
