Dementia may not be fatal
but it can be ruinous and lethal

Imagine one’s impatience
manifesting as violent anger,
employed all logic, but
tossed ethics out of the window
for whatever reason
and in that maniac moment
one misbehaved
and mistreated another

And now, having carried
the burden of guilt for long,
Alas, one suffers from Dementia
the disease of forgetfulness.
Thus, hallucinating
is unable to seek forgiveness
from either the other
or to exonerate one's self

Does one need to wait
to witness the irony of fate?
One should learn and follow
Yam, the sutras of self-control.
