A Sty Shack By The Railway Track

Daily at noon I walk
Along a sty shack,
Made of weary bamboo poles,
Graced with a thatched roof
By an abandoned railway track.
Day and night
Children naked,
Piglets mud-coated
Till tails.
Piglets snout and smut
Children strut
And mothers under open sky
Cook and look,
Look and cook,
Soap, shampoo, oil
And skin their flesh.
Seasons change,
Trees revel, trees mourn
Pigs breed, children grow,
Parents die, pigs sold,
And days go by.
