New Year

Let all humanity do penance 
For causing the menace of Covid-19.
Virus spread like dark devilish cloud 
Pervading entire world
Subjugating human intelligence.
Cries of victims reverberating. 
Some feared and prayed 
Others defied and defeated,
Economy tumbled
Human spirit stumbled
New Year dawns to a feeble morning.
Nature lost grandeur, flora withered
Our prayers fly upwards invoking 
The Almighty to shower blessings
To infuse strength for rejuvenation.
