One More Wish
|

If I am asked to make one more wish I will say "wish, wish, wish make my wish come true" I will gaze around for anything blue Then I will find the sky. I will look up and ask why, why, why? Why can't they be two? So that I will have all that I have lived for Only two wishes and to me they would be more than four
First, I would wish that I had your heart Second, I would wish that I had your heart! It's just a heart such as yours that I would wish for twice It's just a heart such as yours that I could wish for thrice. With your heart we will go through thick and thin With your heart we will bulldoze through fat and slim.

Thank you for such a lovely poem. I remember the first time I read it I smiled. It warmed my heart and reminded me of my own wish, to grow old with my husband. That's what poetry is supposed to do, talk to our emotions.
