See-Through

It's a see-through shirt

And not an opaque heart,

Will let you see

How the slightest twitch

Splashes lucid water.

In this smog

Five and a half feet away

When things are not so perspicuous

I don't stand before you.

You wonder,

If I really hold any ground!

I know,

I may have only me

To talk to

Between clouds and sunshine.

Yet my shirt remains see-through

And from the settled salt of my brine

A placid smile bubbles at distant you.
