I look at the cat
As if simply sitting in Zazen
No wandering thoughts here and there
That is the prerogative of
Us men and women
Thoughts galore mostly bad
Fear takes the major share
Situation around makes me sad
Is life treating us well?
Is it being fair?
But then who ever said that
Life was meant to be fair
Create a life of your own
Create a life you care
Not having to live a life driven by fear
Is that something very rare?
We are the way, we are the goal
We are the pieces, we are the whole
Let not circumstances deter you and
Embrace what is around
This is how it was meant to be
This is how it was to sound
I look at the cat simply sitting
As if in Zazen
As my drifting mind wanders around
And lets its expression come through my pen.
