In the course of the morning walk
A passing hail pelted a knock.
Haven’t you written a verse?
At least about the pandemic as curse
Lockdowns, loss of jobs worldwide
And the society’s sorrowful divide.
Why don’t you write about people’s complacency?
For assuming there’s near normalcy
Even though herd immunity is there
The burden is still not easy to share!
Care to write about forest conservation?
Climate change - a threat to many nations.
Birds and animals are being reared in captivity
Yet, citizens have to act with greater responsibility.
What are your thoughts on happiness?
Despite material comforts there’s much loneliness
In people’s company, individuals live as islands
While other souls obliterate them into silence.
Fluffy cotton flowers came floating along
Gently indicated - Know where you belong!
Recognize the half-full, not the emptiness
Emerge out of the ‘I’ cocoon – think of ‘us'!
Mere words on paper do not validate
Narcissistic thoughts never adulate.
Facts and truths better tackled face down
To win all challenges hands down.
