There is a string

A long and winding string

That tries to entwine

Two free souls together

A string that can be stretched

An elastic spring -

That can be expanded,

But the elasticity depends

On the two souls

Tethered to the string.

The string can be tightened

The string can be smoothened

The string can be roughened,

It all depends on the two souls

Tethered to the string.

It's better to make a pleasant life

When tethered to the smooth string

Rather than roughening and running

Thru the stormy waves.

Face the whirlwinds as they come

Life will always have a sweeter memory

In the end.
