Once Again Your Poem...

Once again your poem, friend
Kindled deep dormant pains
And the wistful song, pent-up all along
All suddenly bled from my veins

Beneath the light of your poem
I braved the hemlock cup again
And the elixir of compassion
Drizzled soft like autumn rain

Under the spell of your poem
The last chain broke asunder
And the solemn chant of distant hymns
I heard aloud and clear
